PRODUCER MEETING : SHARING NFORMATION TO PRODUCERS ABOUT THE PARTICIPATION IN THE SMESCO EXHIBITION .
On 28 July 2011 , Apikri invited around 26 producers who thought could supply the products to be able to promote at the SMESCO Building in Jakarta. Apikri pointed by Trade and Industry Department Special District of Yogyakarta to coordinate producers in Special District of Yogyakarta to supply the best products of Special District of Yogyakarta. For this responsibility, Apikri arrange the meeting of Apikri producers who are ready to supply the best items of Special District Yogyakarta Region.
The best items of Special District of Yogyakarta are from some materials: Sleman Regency is well known with bamboo, Yogyakarta is well known with batik and leather , Kota Gede is well known with silver, Gunung Kidul and Krebet is well known with batik wood . Kasongan is well known with ceramic. However, for SMESCO Gallery the main marketable items are fashion accessories with high value for the segment Middle and Upper Class as told Yanti.
In this meeting, Apikri also invited the representative of Trade and Industry Department and SMESCO to explain about the program and the task of Apikri as Program Coordination. The producers who are ready and having the products to be supplied in the SMESCO Hall of Special District of Yogyakarta at the end of meeting filled the available form and soon sending the products to Apikri. The exhibition planned to be held on October 2011.

Athi ( Head of Community Development of Apikri ) told that Apikri would like to take this opportunity to increase the producers’ capacity by including them to see that exhibition, with the aim to see about the product trend, marketable products . For the funding of this program from Trade and Industry Department, also Government Bank who concerns with small micro enterprises as BPD Yogyakarta.
Visit of MR. HIBINO AND TAKSHI FROM FMYY JAPAN TO APIKRI
Mr. Hibino and Takashi from FMYY Japan visited Apikri on 18 July 2011. They usually visit Apikri when they have program in Yogyakarta. Hibino and Takasih are friends of Moriki Kazumi our partner from Japan who regularly buy products from Apikri. Besides they would like to know about the programs running in Apikri, they also bought some handicraft items in Apikri showroom for the gift when they back to Japan.

The following of the background of FMYY is the one of radio station in Kobe City . On January 17, 1995, Kobe was hit by the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. This earthquake resulted in the significant damage to the lives of minority people in the area. The earthquake of 7.2 magnitude took the lives of more than 6,400 people. Many foreigners greatly suffered, and a large number of them died. Many of those who survived had homes that were destroyed and therefore, had to seek refuge in shelters. Furthermore, many foreigners who lived as residents in the community suffered more than the Japanese as a result of the language barrier, the lack of accessible information and systemﾕs
Communication was difficult for the foreign community because of the language barrier and many were unable to receive necessary information. Ｆoreigners were in a very vulnerable position. The system was insufficient able to support the foreign community before the earthquake hit. Thus, when the crisis occurred, these problems became urgent. A number of Nagata residents observed this problem and came together to improve this situation and help the foreign community. Thus, they established the multicultural/multi-language radio station, FMYY. Good luck.
THE INVOLMENT OF APIKRI AT PRODUCERS CAPACITY BUILDING THROUGH THE PROGRAMS OF GOVERNMENT , AND OTHER ORGANIZATION
On July 23, 2011 Amir Panzuri ( Apikri Director ) spoke about enterprenurship for the members of Mandiri Cooperation Yogyakarta. The participants consist of many small medium enterprises with many field : food and beverage, handicraft, and other sectors.
On July 18, 2011 Amir Panzuri ( Apikri Director) spoke about motivation, managerial and enterpreneurship for small micro enterprises of bamboo at Brajan Villages. Amir also spoke about export prosedure and marketing strategy. It was arranged by Islamic University of Indonesia Yogyakarta.
On July 26, 2011 Amir Panzuri ( Apikri Director) spoke about ” Analysis of Region Potency Management Analysis in the developing of invest cluster in Special District of Yogyakarta” . This workshop arranged by Government Region of Special District of Yogyakarta and attended by governments organizations, producers, institutions, University and also some NGOs.
