25-01-2010 | 07:59:18 VISIT OF NELE SCHMIDT TUTEBERG ( OXFAM Australia ) at Apikri       Visit of Nele from Oxfam Australia was the first  fair trade buyer visit  in the beginning of this year.  On 19 January 2010, Nele our buyer partner from OXFAM Australia  accompanied by her husband, her child and her mother  had visit to Apikri for the purpose of sample selection and visiting  3 producers : Mr. Kemiskidi, Mr. Supri who make batik wood products , and Mr. Nur Taufik who make products of coconut wood.       As the first schedule, a talk about each  organization progress, including the product trend which can be our guidance to develop new products for OXFAM . Nele had sample selection in our product development room which had been prepared before by Apikri.  Discussion about new products which could be improved was always become interesting issue.  Visiting Apikri showroom also not missed by Nele.Nele family also enjoyed with many kinds of  products and programs arranged by Apikri. The meeting between Nele family and Apikri family become a warm meeting.  Yogyakarta traditional food such as  : lemper, nagasari which wrapped by banana leaves were good taste for Nele family., since they never eat before.         Sample selection in Apikri office   Visiting at Mr. Supri ( wood batik producers ) after having lunch was the first producer visit .  As the main talk of the disscussion about the batik process on wood, workshop lay out , new product development  The next producer visit was Mr. Kemiskidi who also batik wood producer which live in the same village namely : Sendangsari, Bantul. Mr. Supri used to the worker of Mr. Kemiskidi, they are still relative. But, now Mr. Supri has small business of batik wood. However, they can cooperate in doing the order. Means when Mr. Kemiskidi has a lot order then he can not do the whole, he asked Mr. Supri to help him  when Mr. Supri has a lot order then he can not finish the whole,  he asked Mr.  Kemiskidi to help him also. In Mr Kemiskidi, Nele also discuss about the batik and coloring. Improving design for some jewellery made of batik wood beads ,The last visit was in Mr. Nur Taufik who make coconut wood, not far from the vlllage of Kemiskisi and Supri. Nele also give some idea to improve the cocowood design and friendly products.   As the follow up of the visit, further contact about product selection information waited by Apikri. Some improvement and progress done by  Apikri as fair trade organization will be continued.This visit was also valuable meeting between Nele family and Apikri family , both  can be closed family in the world. Meeting with some old friend of Nele when they were in Senior High Scholl in Australia make Apikri family find more friends . That was such impressive metting.
