Apikri welcomed a visit from Kotomi Nagai, a design student from Kindai University, on Monday, June 22, 2026. During the visit, Kotomi met with five representatives from Apikri, consisting of two board members and three staff members. Speaking in remarkably fluent Indonesian, she explained that the purpose of her visit was to explore opportunities for collaboration between Kindai University and Apikri, particularly in the areas of cultural exchange, artisan development, and handicraft promotion.
Kotomi expressed her interest in creating programs that would allow students and artisans to exchange experiences and learn from each other. She also discussed the possibility of organizing workshops or seminars focusing on the implementation of fair trade practices among Apikri artisans. The discussion provided an opportunity for both parties to share ideas and identify potential areas of cooperation that could benefit artisans, students, and the broader fair trade community.
As a follow-up to the meeting, Apikri was invited to prepare a proposal outlining possible collaborative activities for further review. It is hoped that this initial visit will lead to a sustainable partnership between Apikri and Kindai University. In addition to educational and cultural exchanges, the collaboration may also open opportunities to introduce and expand Apikri products in the Japan market in the future.
