On Sunday, October 11, 2026, representatives from APIKRI attended the solemn and inspiring first-anniversary commemoration of Griya Seni Suromo. The event served as a heartfelt tribute to honor the enduring legacy of one of APIKRI's esteemed co-founders, bringing together artists, cultural figures, and close community members to celebrate his profound contributions to the art world.

The commemorative gathering proved to be deeply insightful, featuring rich discussions centered around contemporary art and its various operational and creative challenges. The dialogue was led by distinguished lecturers and artists from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta, who shared expert perspectives on sustaining artistic movements in modern society.

A particularly touching highlight of the day was the active participation of the late Suromo's sons, who lovingly transformed their family home into a vibrant art gallery to preserve his creative spirit. APIKRI's presence at the milestone event reaffirmed its deep commitment to honoring its founding figures and supporting grassroots cultural spaces in Yogyakarta.
