In an effort to promote environmental sustainability and community engagement, Apikri successfully conducted a reforestation program on January 17, 2025, in Gumawang, Gunung Kidul. The initiative saw the planting of 1.202 consist of 645 sengon seedlings, 300 durian seedlings and 257 avocado seedlings. The event was inaugurated by Bayu, the group's leader, and featured speeches from Village Head Sumadi and Apikri's chairperson, Ely Widayati.
The technical aspects of the planting were elucidated by Purnomo, who provided high-quality seedlings from Purworejo, Central Java. The activity drew participation from 43 artisan group members, local village officials, and 10 Apikri personnel. Highlighting the collaborative spirit, Apikri's supervisor, Esti Heru Prastianti, symbolically handed over the seedlings to the local deputy village head.
The event concluded with practical planting demonstrations and guidance provided by the seedling provider to the artisans. This initiative not only aims to rejuvenate the local ecosystem but also fosters community resilience and environmental stewardship among participants.
