On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Apikri mourned the loss of one of its respected members and senior leather artisans, Mr. Wakhidussalam, who passed away at the age of 70. He died after a period of illness. Although his family had taken him to the hospital for treatment, God’s will ultimately decided his fate.
Mr. Wakhid, as he was fondly known, had been a part of Apikri since its early days. He played a key role in supporting the development and continuity of the cooperative, especially through his craftsmanship in leather products.
