Bantul– The management team of Apikri (Indonesian People's Craft Industry Development Association) Cooperative served as key resource persons in a comprehensive workshop focused on the analysis of job suitability, work requirements, and alignment with vocational school expertise at SMKN 5 Yogyakarta. This significant two-day event, held at the school premises, was designed to bridge the gap between the curriculum taught in vocational high schools and the practical demands of the creative and industrial sectors, aiming to better prepare students for the workforce.

The first day, held on October 29, 2025, concentrated on crucial job analysis, Bambang Purnomo Supervisor of the Apikri Cooperative and a seasoned ceramics entrepreneur, led the session as the primary resource person. His extensive experience provided valuable insights into the practical expectations of job roles within the craft industry, specifically addressing how the skills imparted by SMKN 5 Yogyakarta can be optimally matched with industry needs and professional standards. The input from industry leaders like Mr. Purnomo is vital for ensuring the relevance of vocational training programs.

The following day, October 30, 2025, the workshop shifted its focus to a critical aspect of industry practice: Occupational Safety and Health (K3). This material was delivered by Lilik Nuswantoro, who provided an in-depth session on maintaining a safe and healthy working environment. The emphasis on K3 highlights the cooperative’s commitment to not only skill development but also to promoting a culture of safety and professional responsibility among future workers, a mandatory and essential component for any sustainable business operation.

The entire workshop took place at SMKN 5 Yogyakarta and was attended by thirty dedicated teachers from the school. Their participation underscores the institution's proactive approach to continuously improving its curriculum and instructional quality. By directly engaging with industry professionals from Apikri, the teachers were equipped with the latest, real-world data and practical knowledge necessary to refine their teaching methods and vocational subject matter, ensuring their students receive education that is relevant and up-to-date with current market demands.

Ultimately, Apikri hopes that this successful workshop marks the beginning of a deeper, more strategic partnership with the educational institution. The cooperative is eager to collaborate further on various initiatives, fostering a long-term relationship that benefits both the students and the industry. By strengthening the bond between vocational education and the craft industry, Apikri aims to contribute significantly to the development of a highly skilled and work-ready generation in the Yogyakarta region and beyond.
