On May 10, 2024, Apikri participated in an online meeting with the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) to discuss plans for the upcoming annual meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, scheduled from September 17th to 20th, 2024. The virtual meeting, held at 19:00 local time and 08:00 European time, was crucial for preparing for the global fair trade organization summit and included the announcement of organizations selected for free participation in the summit.

During the meeting, significant topics were covered, including the logistical preparations for the event and the agenda for the summit. This annual gathering is an important event for fair trade organizations worldwide, providing a platform for members to exchange ideas, strategies, and best practices to enhance the fair trade movement.

Among the 420 members from 81 countries participating in the fair trade network, two organizations were awarded the opportunity to attend the summit in South Africa for free. This recognition is a testament to their exceptional contributions to the fair trade cause. One of these honored organizations is from India, highlighting the diverse and inclusive nature of the WFTO community.

Representing Apikri at the Zoom meeting were Chairperson Bu Ely and Azmi Gading. Their involvement underscores Apikri's active engagement in the global fair trade community and commitment to advancing fair trade principles.
